Policeman, homeowners assaulted
Police arrested two men Friday after they allegedly assaulted a Cleburne woman and beat her husband with a chain. One of the men arrested also allegedly assaulted a Cleburne police officer. Police arrested a woman who accompanied the men to the scene as well for outstanding warrants.Police responded to the 1100 block of Baird Street on a call of a fight in progress that appeared to be escalating about 5 p.m.Officer Robert Thompson arrived on scene first to find three people fighting in a front yard. Thompson attempted to break the fight up but was shoved by a man later identified as Justin Ray Klosky, 21, of Cleburne, according to reports. Thompson fell, injuring his ribs and right hand, but he managed to gain control of Klosky after a brief fight, according to reports. At that point, Klosky was handcuffed by other officers who had arrived at the scene.

Money blows in air; $4,400 still missing
FREMONT Around $4,400 is still unaccounted for after $6,000 in cash swirled in the air on East State Street Tuesday afternoon. According to Fremont police reports, after 4 p.m., a Nu-Tire employee was transferring $6,000 in $100 bills to American Auto Sales and Rental, located across the street. The employee was carrying a folder with an envelope inside which contained the money. .
Stocks Headed For Weak Open
Nasdaq futures dropped 13 points vs. fair value, S&P 500 futures lost 9 points and Dow futures shed 62 points. In economic news, the N.Y. Empire State Index stumbled to a reading of minus-11.7, well below economists' estimates of plus-7. This was the first negative reading since May of 2005. Import prices climbed 1.7% in January, the most since November. The increase was mostly due to a 5.5% rise in imported petroleum prices. Export prices gained 1.2%. The dollar fell against the euro and the yen. Meanwhile, the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index for February will out at 10 a.m. EST. A dip to 76.5 is expected. Fed Governor Frederic Mishkin is also due to speak today. Best Buy BBY fell 4% in pre-open trading after cutting its outlook.

Google introduces an Apps tool for sending forms via e-mail
In a BetaNews test, we sent an invite to four different e-mail addresses. Each recipient was successfully able to add data to the spreadsheet and respond.
